Gratitude

Gratitude
Gratitude is a powerful word! Today I would like to inspire you to be grateful! It’s so easy to get caught up in everyday activities and stress that we often forget to stop and be grateful for even the smallest of things. I am home recovering from knee replacement surgery. It’s been a week and yesterday I woke up feeling grumpy and frustrated. As I lay back in my bed after putting ice on for the 100 billionth time in a week, I looked to my left and the sun was shining in so bright and beautiful,  I felt guilty for being so grumpy! I pulled out of it immediately. I remembered despite everything, I had so many things to be grateful for. God puts so many things in our life, we just have to stop and remember! What are you grateful for today?

Oh Happy Day!!!

It’s Friday!! Are you feeling happy? Do you wait till Friday to be happy, or do you find happiness every day?! Sometimes I think we get so caught up waiting for that “happy” moment to happen that we forget to be happy in the moment. One of my friends posted this on Facebook and I just had to borrow it to share. Watch this video, get up and dance! Don’t be afraid to just show your happiness once in awhile….I dare you!!

Have a great weekend!

Happy People Inspire Me!

I am currently reading a book on happiness and it has prompted much thought on the topic.  Since our focus this month is on inspiring people, I decided to write about “Happy People” because I find them to be very inspiring.  Who is the happiest person you know?  Can you think of more than one?  I have to admit, I had to stop and think  for a few minutes about my answer to this question.  Three people came to mind, two of them are no longer with me and one I am blessed to live with each and every day!

The first is my Dad, who was known for his belly laugh and overall cheery disposition.  He had one of those laughs that could be heard across the room.  He was always whistling a tune and hearing that happy sound is one of my fondest memories of my Dad.  Later, when he fought the battle for his life against cancer, he continued to be an inspiration.  He faced his illness with grace, courage and optimism until the very end.

The second person on my list was my Dad’s sister, my Aunt Margaret.   [Read more…]

Inspirations to Think About!

Lemons and sugar Inspiration

I was looking for something else in my Word documents and came across this that I had saved a long time ago. This was sent to me years ago by my sister Jen…don’t know why…maybe to sit there in my documents until this blog was created so I could pass on these few words of wisdom and inspiration to our lovely audience!! Hope you find something useful!!

LEMONS and SUGAR

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day.
You may not realize it, but it’s 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don’t like you.

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to someone.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone that you don’t even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.

10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.

11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

And always remember….
when life hands you Lemons,
ask for Sugar and call me over!

Good friends are like stars.
You don’t always see them,
But you know they are always there.

‘Whenever God Closes One Door He Always Opens Another, Even Though
Sometimes It’s Hell in the Hallway’

I would rather have one rose and a kind word
from a friend while I’m here
than a whole truckload when I’m gone.

Happiness keeps You Sweet,
Trials keep You Strong,
Sorrows keep You Human,
Life keeps You Humble,
Success keeps You Glowing,
But Only God keeps You Going

Blessings!!
