About Us

“I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world.” – Mother Teresa

Hi, and welcome to our blog!  Our goal in creating this blog is to offer you a place to go when you need to escape for a little while to renew and refresh your mind and spirit.    We are dreamers and creators, and we hope to share our inspirations with you.  We will cover different themes in our posts centering around Faith, Relationships, Health and Fitness, and some DIY tips too. We also want to share God’s beautiful world with you through photos and travel experiences.  We want to help you remember – it’s about the little things, the peace you feel when you read a scripture that speaks to you personally, time spent in quiet prayer, a hot cup of tea and a good book, a glimpse of  a glorious sunset as you walk to your car after a stressful day at work, or the bubbling laughter of a child.   Sometimes we go through life with blinders on, never noticing the beauty in the world around us. Let us help you take those blinders off!  So grab that cup of tea or coffee, settle in and hopefully you will find some sweet and simple inspiration to brighten your day!

We are two Christian sisters with lots of hopes, dreams, plans and ideas that will help make your day just a little brighter and inspire you to try new things. This is who we are!

Julie

Hi! I am Julie the oldest sister. I have been married for almost 38 years and together we have three beautiful daughters and three wonderful son- in- laws   and one handsome son and a wonderful daughter in-law. I am very proud of all of my kids and their accomplishments, but I must admit, one of the best things about my kids is that they have given me 4 grandchildren that I love and adore! My husband is self employed and I was blessed to be able to be a stay at home mom for years. I got a little restless in my 40’s and decided then to pursue my dream of becoming a therapist. So at the ripe age of 41 I embarked on my college journey that ended with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a certification in Addictions Counseling. My career has had many ups and downs but I have learned more about people than I ever thought possible.

I am so blessed to still have my mom, alive and well and living close to me. My dad died 25 years ago from cancer. That was a very dark time in our lives, but our faith in God got us through it. My sister and brother and their families are a very important part of my life. I am also blessed to have a very large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins that we still engage with on a regular basis.

I must admit I am a woman of hobbies. I love crafting and creating. I love taking pictures. Books and music have always been a passion. My favorite place to go is any beach anywhere! I am very interested in health and fitness and am a huge fan of Weight Watchers which has helped me to lose almost 100 pounds! (Much more about this in future posts) Last but not least, I love to learn and am always on a quest to learn how to do something new.

I can’t wait to share with all of you the things I have learned over the years of being a wife, mother, grandmother, counselor, and inspirer!

Jennifer  Hi!  I’m Jennifer, the youngest sister.  I am a wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, great- aunt, cousin, friend and teacher.   I love lists, so here is one of all that inspires me!

My main inspiration:

The most important thing in my life is my faith and my relationship with Jesus. I couldn’t get through a single minute of the day without Him.

People that inspire me:

My husband, my daughters ages 7 and 14, my family, including my Mom, my Dad who is no longer physically with us, but will always be in my heart, my sister, my brother and their spouses and all of the beautiful nieces and nephews they have give me, my extended family including aunts, uncles and cousins, my friends and of course my faithful pooch Louie! Also funny people, healthy/fit people, those who dedicate their lives to serving others and people who challenge me to dream big dreams and go for it!

Things that inspire me:

The Bible, good books, nature, HGTV, chocolate, vacations with my family, beautiful art/photos and music are at the top of my list.

Places that inspire me:

The beach, my home town (a farming community with wide open spaces), sitting on my front porch with a cup of tea and my hubby, botanical gardens, parks/nature trails, historical sites and church.

Hobbies that inspire me:

Writing, reading, photography, drawing/painting, running, and yoga are some of my favorites. I would love to learn to play tennis or golf and how to crochet, knit or quilt.
