Corrie Ten Boom – An Inspirational Lady

When trying to pick an inspirational person for this series, I had a hard time deciding who I wanted to highlight.  I can think of so many inspirational people that I have met or read about.

I decided to highlight a book I read about an amazing woman and her family who helped hide Jewish friends during WWII.  The book is called The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom, together with Elizabeth Sherrill and John Sherrill.

Corrie Ten Boom The Hiding Place

This story details the life of a brave Dutch woman and her family and the events that lead to their eventual arrest and imprisonment.  Corrie and her sister Betsie were sent to Vught, a Dutch concentration camp for political prisoners and were eventually transferred to Ravensbrück where Betsie died.   Through a miracle, Corrie was released by a clerical error.  In this book,  Corrie details how her strong Christian faith, God’s love and the power of forgiveness saw her through.

If you take the time to read this book, you will be changed.  It is a very powerful story about faith and forgiveness.

  1. A very good book to read.
