Endearing Words From Our First President

We have been traveling throughout the Washington D.C. area this past week.  I was trying to decide what to include in today’s post.  I have a lot of great pictures of the “classics” from Washington D.C. which I’m sure many of you have seen in person or in photos.  So I thought I would try to give you a glimpse of some “not as famous” things I saw on our travels.

(This was a really cool display of George Washington in the museum-his eyes followed you as you walked around the exhibit-it freaked Little One out!)

Today we visited Mount Vernon, the home of our first President, George Washington.  It is an impressive home, sitting on a bluff overlooking the Potomac River.  As we toured the grounds, this quote in the museum area caught my eye.  I actually took the photo to try to send to my hubby, who wasn’t with us today, because I loved the words!.  Who knew the Father of our great country, also had such a romantic side to him?

So I started thinking about how often days go by when I don’t properly express my love and admiration for those closest to me.  If George Washington was not too busy to pen these words to his wife, then I certainly can take the time to make sure I tell my loved ones how much they mean to me.  My words might not be as eloquent as the great George Washington, but it is the thought and love behind the words that count!

How about you?  Any ideas for words of endearment to those we love?  I would love to know how you tell those you love how much they mean to you!
